Our Trip to visit ArtBreak!

A Social Story

We are going on a trip to visit ArtBreak!

Our class will visit ArtBreak 2025 at the Shreveport Convention Center. We will explore all kinds of art, see student work, make our own creations, enjoy music, and have a fun day together.

Before we leave school
We will use the restroom and line up with our group.
We will walk safely to the bus with our teacher and chaperones.

Riding the bus
We will sit with our bus buddy, talk quietly, and keep our hands and feet to ourselves.
It’s important to stay seated and follow directions during the ride.

Arriving at the Shreveport Convention Center
The building will be large and busy, with many schools visiting too.
We will walk together, stay with our group, and listen to our adults.
Inside, we will use walking feet and calm voices.

Moving through the Convention Center
We might walk through wide hallways or go upstairs or downstairs.
We could take stairs, escalators, or elevators—only with our group.
We will pay attention, so we don’t get separated.

Stay with your group

If something happens and you get lost, look for a police officer or go to the INFO BOOTH near the bottom of the escalator. They will help you to find your group.

Exploring the artwork
We will see amazing pieces: paintings, drawings, sculptures, and more!
We will look with our eyes and keep our hands to ourselves unless we are told it’s okay to touch.
We will show respect by listening, asking questions politely, and using kind words.

Hands-On Art Stations
We will visit different art stations where we get to make our own art!

One might be Drawing, coloring, or painting with art supplies.

Another might be Building something with clay or mixed materials.

Perhaps we might make a craft or collage using paper, fabric, or found objects.

Watch a PLAY!

Some kids might get to watch the Shreve Memorial Library do a play about a book!

As we create, we will hear live music by QMajor and Uncle Devin!

QMajor plays beautiful violin music.

Uncle Devin plays fun rhythms on drums and other percussion instruments.

We will listen, enjoy, and let the music inspire us while we make our art.

Spotlight on student artwork
We will visit the student gallery, where art from local schools will be on display.
We will look for pieces made by our classmates or maybe even by us!
We will celebrate everyone’s creativity and hard work.

Stopping at the Souvenir Booth
Before we leave, we might stop at the souvenir booth.
If we brought money, we can choose something to buy, like a pencil, sticker, or t-shirt.
We will wait patiently, speak politely, and remember to say thank you.
If we didn’t bring money, that’s okay—we can still enjoy looking!

Time to go
Once our teacher calls out to us, we will get ready to go.  We will line up and walk calmly through the convention center with our group.
We will get back on the bus and head to school.

ArtBreak 2025 will be a fun and inspiring day!
We will explore amazing art, create at the hands-on stations, enjoy live music, and have fun with our friends.
We will be respectful, responsible, and proud to represent our school.

NOW – We are ready for an awesome ArtBreak adventure!
